RECRUITMENT OF A CONSULTANT TO PROVIDE PRACTICAL TRAINING ON “RESEARCH METHODOLOGYAND RESEARCH PAPER WRITING”

1. Introduction

The Economic Policy Research Network (EPRN Rwanda) is a research network aiming at strengthening the capacities of individuals and organizations active in or with an interest in economic policy research and analysis. EPRN Rwanda therefore responds to economic policy gaps resulting mainly from lack of quality and informative research and the challenge of human capacity in terms of limited numbers of economic researchers and active involvement.

The mission of EPRN Rwanda is to contribute to the evidence based economic policy making by providing high quality research, building capacity and creating networking opportunities.

2. Rationale of the training

EPRN believes in the motivation, creativity and ambition of university students, one of its aims is to empower students to shape their own education. For the 3rd time, EPRN is organizing a student’s conference and competition scheduled in November 2019. The call for abstract was launched and 20 student have submitted their abstract addressing different sub-topics under the main theme of “Role of youth in Establishing Rwanda as a Globally Competitive Knowledge-based Economy”. Within the same framework, students who submitted abstracts will be given practical training about research methodology and research paper writing.

3. Scope of work

The trainer is expected to teach trainees about practical research methodology and research paper writing skills with real life examples to enable student write good papers that meet the standards.

4. Required Qualification and Expertise

The consultant/trainer must have at least the following :
a. Be a member of EPRN
b. Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, PhD level is an added value
c. Specific experience in delivering practical training in research methodology and research paper writing
d. Proven record of published papers with both national and international recognized journals.

5. Duration

The training is scheduled on 06th September 2019 for the whole day from 08.00 am to 5.00 pm.
